La mission
Eh sì, anche in questo caso possiamo spendere la parola “Renaissance”.
Un termine che ci racconta dei recuperi e delle riscoperte moderne di epoche e di musiche splendide, vengano esse dalla nordica polifonia gotica o dalle coreografie della Firenze rinascimentale, dal melodramma delle corti barocche fino a quello del grande pesarese Rossini.
Con questo festival, una schiera numerosa di compositori si avvicina a noi: essi ci parlano, ci raccontano le loro storie e, soprattutto, ci propongono pagine di musica bellissime, al contempo antiche e nuove per noi che non le abbiamo mai sentite; e noi dello staff lavorando a questa ricerca ne riceviamo un arricchimento tanto prezioso quanto insperato.
La Rinascita di questi autori, oltre che una bellissima sorpresa per tutti, potrebbe poi servire all’ampliamento di un repertorio, quello lirico italiano, che pur continuando a vivere sui tantissimi capolavori di immenso e indiscusso valore, potrebbe arricchirsi e diversificarsi allargandosi a questi “nuovi” musicisti, assegnando loro uno spazio in una più interessante e varia cadenza temporale dei titoli tradizionali nei cartelloni dei teatri.
Così come sinfonie ed arie dei nostri compositori potrebbero aggiungere interesse e vivacità alle programmazioni lirico-sinfoniche delle orchestre. Questo allargamento di programma è già stato sperimentato dall’Orchestra Sinfonica G. Rossini la quale proseguirà su questa strada confortata dal deciso gradimento del pubblico.
Un ringraziamento infine ai numerosi sostenitori; un progetto come IBR poteva nascere solamente col metodo dei tanti mattoncini che costruiscono una grande casa. Importanti infatti sono le esigenze economiche, promozionali ed artistiche di un’iniziativa nata in un periodo in cui i grandi finanziamenti pubblici sono stati da tempo assegnati e l’andamento dell’economia impone ai privati massima attenzione. Avere un numero così cospicuo di cantori, definizione più appropriata del mattoncino, ci riempie di gioia.
Immaginando che un grande coro possa arricchirsi anche di nuovi elementi, speriamo di poter continuare a sentir cantare a gran voce questo inno alla bella musica!
The mission
Yes, here, too, we can use the word ‘Renaissance’.
A term that tells us about modern discoveries of epochs and splendid music, whether from northern Gothic polyphony or choreographic Florence, birthplace of the Renaissance, and again from the opera of the Baroque courts to that of the legendary Rossini from Pesaro.
With this festival, a multitude of composers come closer to us: they speak to us, they tell us their stories, and above all, they offer us beautiful music pages, simultaneously ancient and new to us who have never heard them; and we members of the team by working on this research, receive an enrichment that is as precious as unexpected.
Beyond being a delightful surprise for everyone, the Rebirth of these composers could contribute to the expansion of the Italian opera repertoire, which, while continuing to live on the countless masterpieces of immense and undisputed value, including these ‘new’ musicians, could make the theatre billboards more interesting.
Similarly, symphonies and arias by our composers could make the orchestras’ repertoire more attractive and vivid. Orchestra Sinfonica G. Rossini has already tested this widening of the repertoire and will continue along this path, comforted by the strong approval of the audience. Finally, I would like to thank the numerous supporters; a project like IBR could be born only with the method of the many bricks that build a large house.
Important indeed are the economic, promotional, and artistic requirements of an initiative launched at a time when public funding had long since been allocated, and the economic trend demanded the most significant attention from private companies. Having such a large number of ‘singers’ – a more appropriate definition of the ‘brick’ – fills us with joy. Imagining new elements can also enrich a great choir. Hopefully, we will continue hearing this hymn to beautiful music sung loudly!
